Connecting macOS computer to Konica printers

  1. Open System Preferences.
  2. Select Printers and Scanners.
  3. Click the + button in the bottom left corner to add a new printer.
  4. Control-click or right click in the toolbar, underneath "Add Printer", to either side of the icons, the select Customize Toolbar.
  5. Drag the icon labeled Advanced up into the toolbar, where you see the floating icons. Click Done.
  6. Select the Advanced option, and wait while it searches for printers.
  7. Select Windows printer via spoolss from the drop down menu Type.
  8. In the URL box, type smb://proteus/FindMe-B&W.
  9. In the Name box, assign the printer whatever name you wish.
  10. In the Use dropdown menu, select Generic Postscript Printer.
  11. Click Add, then check the box that says Duplex Printing Unit. This will allow you to print two-sided jobs. Click OK.
  12. You are ready to print to the campus-wide queue in black and white. Repeat the instructions, but substitute the URL​​​​​​​ in step 8 with smb://proteus/FindMe-Color to add the color queue.
