How to Check for Windows Updates

Overview

Instructions for how to manually check for updates to your Windows computer through Windows Update. 

  1. Click the Start button. 
  2. Click on Settings or the Settings icon.

  3. Select Update and Security.

  4. Select Check online for updates from Microsoft Update or Check for updates.
  5. Check online for updates
  6. Windows will download and install any updates that are needed.
