Password Complexity Guidlines

Policy

It is University policy that passwords must follow the following guidelines:

Passwords must be at least ten characters and should include the following:

• Uppercase letters
• Lowercase letters
• Number
• Special Character
• Use a password or passphrase that has a unique meaning to only you, but does not have a natural flow: – H!Mnpintd2r! Hey! My new password is not that difficult to remember!
• Do not reuse your new University of Lynchburg password with other accounts or websites
• The same strong password used on another account that suffers a breach would place all of your other accounts using that same password in jeopardy
• Never share your password with anyone
